Evangelism Outreach Festival – Basic planning info
Many churches are in decline, many are suffering from loss of membership or attendance, and many are stagnant and just don’t know what to do. Each year at the Evangelism Outreach Festival ideas are shared with a large cross section of congregations in Southern California. We discuss what works and what has not worked in various contexts. We have seen a decline even in interest to attend seminars, workshops, and events surrounding outreach so we want to get your input about the 2011 event.
We plan to have Karl Clauson a dynamic speaker on the subject of Transformational Ministry. Check out his web site. This is a topic that concerns churches that want to be less membership oriented and more discipleship focused. It stresses God’s mission in the world and looks for ways where God transforms our hearts from worry to wonder, and from maintenance to mission. This topic is one that can light a flame under folks taking them from feelings of failure to once again falling in love with God’s message of redemption and hope in a struggling world.
Some of the workshops being planned are:
Transformational Ministry 101 – How to light the fire and keep it burning
Music/Worship as an Outreach Vehicle
10 Great Dates – used as an opportunity to bring people into the church
Kids Music Camp – Reaching the local community
The Truth Project – Small groups on a mission of truth
Using the Internet for Outreach – spreading God’s message to the world, also advertising events with instant sites, and blogging as an interactive messaging tool in the public arena
We are also open to suggestions for speakers and workshops that you think would be interesting and helpful going forward. Based on your feedback and the number of responses we will plan accordingly. We would also love to have more hands on deck in the planning and execution of this event.
