Tom is a lay volunteer from Red Hill Lutheran Church in Tustin, CA. His event leadership experience has included: Drama, Music, Video, Master of Ceremonies, Speaking, overall program planning and more.
While in High School, Tom was involved in his church’s Bus Ministry in the suburbs of Chicago. He went door-to-door every Saturday morning, inviting kids to come to Sunday School. In the bus, Tom led songs and developed relationships with the kids to make Sunday School a fun adventure. He began as a helper, became a Bus Captain, then eventually led the program as a paid staff person his Senior Year.
He began his Event Evangelism experience while conducting evangelistic events in public dormitories while he was an engineering student at the University of Illinois. He led the drama team – writing original skits, sang with the band and was on the overall leadership team. Their group also went on a summer concert/drama tour through the Midwest.
For the past 15 years, he has led many Chapel Services at the Orange County Rescue Mission and local Nursing Homes. He plays guitar and sings – either solo or with a band – at churches, retreats and other special events.
He volunteered as the Contemporary Band Worship Leader at Red Hill Lutheran Church for 5 years, and has acted as a substitute Worship Leader for other churches in the area. He continues to participate in the Red Hill Band and works on special events as needed.
Ten years as a Boy/Cub Scout leader, two as Scoutmaster, has also given him experience in organizing groups and special events.
His most recent major leadership responsibility was organizing the entertainment for a Thanksgiving dinner event at Red Hill. He selected the performers & music – blending contemporary, traditional & children’s music, produced multiple Video Clips, co-directed two Drama skits, coordinated the technical requirements and worked with the speakers to create a fun and meaningful program. He was also part of the overall event leadership team.
Tom has produced a CD of some of his original Christian music. He has written Praise & Worship, Christmas, Kids & Solo-Performance songs.
